Former TSPC Rebel Among Three Arrested in Chatra for Alleged Subversive Plot

In a significant crackdown, police in Chatra district apprehended three miscreants from Khuti Kewal Khurd village on Saturday, with one identified as a former rebel of the TSPC. The arrests were made as the individuals were allegedly planning subversive activities, according to official statements.

Dramatic Chase Leads to Apprehension

SDPO Sandeep Kumar Suman detailed the incident, stating that the police team encountered three youths on a motorcycle who attempted to flee upon sighting the officers. "Our team gave chase and successfully apprehended them after a brief pursuit," he said. During the operation, authorities seized a loaded country-made pistol from Mithun Kumar and live cartridges from Sonu Paswan.

Stolen Vehicle and Criminal Backgrounds Uncovered

Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle used by the suspects had been reported stolen from within the jurisdiction of the Jori police station. Additionally, one of the arrested individuals, Badal Gupta, was found to be wanted in a separate theft case, adding to the gravity of the situation.

Former TSPC Member's Notorious Past

SDPO Suman elaborated on the background of Mithun Kumar, highlighting his former association with the Harendra Ganju squad of the TSPC. "Mithun was allegedly involved in setting fire to construction machinery and vehicles engaged in development projects in Hunterganj," he noted. The accused faces multiple cases related to extortion and arson, underscoring a pattern of criminal behavior.

The arrests underscore ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb insurgent activities in the region, with police emphasizing vigilance against such threats to public safety and development initiatives.
