Police investigations reveal that Mahesh traced Sunitha's residential address through her social media accounts. He had shifted to Hyderabad two months prior to the attack, staying in a hostel while allegedly conducting reconnaissance of her apartment building. Investigators discovered that Mahesh arrived at the crime scene carrying a bag containing:

• A bottle of petrol
