Etah Sub-Inspector Suspended After Inappropriate Audio Clip, FIR Filed for Ruckus
Etah SI Suspended Over Audio Clip, FIR for Misconduct

A sub-inspector stationed at the Bagwala police station in Etah has been suspended. This action follows the emergence of an alleged audio clip where he is heard speaking inappropriately to a woman. Officials confirmed the suspension on Wednesday.

Suspension and Subsequent Ruckus

Chandrashekhar Gautam, aged 45, faced suspension by SSP Shyam Narayan Singh. The suspension came after the woman filed a formal complaint. She also submitted a 23-minute audio clip as evidence. A departmental inquiry was immediately ordered in response.

Police reports indicate that after his suspension, Gautam allegedly created a disturbance at the Bagwala police station. This incident occurred on Tuesday evening. He is accused of misbehaving with officers who were on duty at the time.

FIR Registered Under Multiple Sections

An FIR has been officially registered against Gautam. The charges include several sections of the BNS. Specifically, Sections 296 for obscene acts, 292 for public nuisance, 121(1), and 352 for voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant are cited. SSP Shyam Narayan Singh confirmed these details. He added that a departmental probe is currently underway to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Background of the Case

Sources reveal that Gautam had been assigned to investigate a case back in July. In this case, the woman's husband was an accused party. During the investigation, Gautam allegedly obtained the woman's phone number. He then called her on January 10.

The audio clip purportedly captures Gautam using derogatory language about the woman's husband. He is also heard seeking intimate personal details from her. Additionally, he made inappropriate remarks during the conversation.

Alleged Intoxication During Inquiry

According to the FIR, another serious allegation has surfaced. When a DSP visited the police station to inquire into the incident, Gautam was allegedly found to be intoxicated. This detail adds to the gravity of the misconduct charges against him.

The case continues to develop as authorities pursue both the criminal FIR and the internal departmental inquiry. The police department is taking strict action to address the allegations of misconduct.
