Eight Individuals Booked in Krishnagiri for Vandalizing House Door Over Financial Dispute
The Rayakottai police station in Krishnagiri district has officially registered a criminal case against eight people for deliberately damaging the entrance door of a residential property. This incident stems from a heated confrontation over an unpaid personal loan, highlighting the severe consequences of financial disagreements escalating into physical violence.
Root Cause: A Rs 3,000 Loan Repayment Argument
The conflict originated when Raghu, a 32-year-old sculptor residing in Ullukurukai, borrowed a sum of Rs 3,000 from Kaleem, a 45-year-old local from the same neighborhood. The loan was extended more than ten days prior to the incident. Tensions reached a boiling point this past Wednesday when Kaleem demanded the immediate return of his money, leading to a fierce verbal argument between the two parties.
According to statements from a police officer involved in the investigation, "The situation quickly deteriorated. An angered Raghu physically assaulted Kaleem during the dispute. In retaliation, Kaleem issued a direct death threat against Raghu, further inflaming the hostility."
Escalation to Property Damage and Family Terror
The altercation took a more dangerous turn on Wednesday night. Kaleem, accompanied by a group of associates, allegedly targeted Raghu's home. Armed with sickles, the group forcibly broke down the main door of the house in an act of intimidation and vandalism.
Inside the residence at the time were Raghu, his wife Jayalakshmi, and their young child. The family reportedly shouted in sheer fear as the assailants carried out the destructive act, creating a traumatic environment for the inhabitants.
Legal Action and Ongoing Police Investigation
In response to the terrifying event, Jayalakshmi filed a formal complaint with the Rayakottai police. Based on her testimony and evidence gathered, law enforcement officials have registered a case against eight individuals implicated in the vandalism.
The accused include Kaleem, along with Nawaz (aged 42) and Taufik (aged 39), among others. Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the full sequence of events and ensure appropriate legal proceedings are followed. This case underscores the importance of resolving financial disputes through lawful channels to prevent such destructive outcomes.
