Major Burglary Strikes Doctor's Residence in Vizianagaram District

In a shocking incident in Kothavalasa, Vizianagaram district, burglars targeted the locked house of a doctor, making off with a substantial haul of valuables. The thieves stole approximately 270 grams of gold, 12 kilograms of silver jewellery, and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash, according to police reports.

Details of the Crime Scene and Investigation

The victim, Dr. T Subba Rao, along with his family, had been residing in the house for over a decade. They were away visiting their elder daughter in Hyderabad when the burglary occurred. Upon returning on Monday, Dr. Rao discovered the back door lock broken and the valuables missing.

Police immediately launched an investigation, with fingerprint experts examining the crime scene and a dog squad brought in to assist. CCTV footage from the location revealed that two miscreants entered the house and remained there until the early hours of Monday. Authorities have formed a special team to track down and apprehend the accused in what is being described as a massive burglary case.

Similar Incident in Nearby Area Raises Concerns

This burglary follows another recent property offence in the region. About ten days ago, miscreants broke into the locked house of B Sujatha, a staff nurse in Vizag, under Chodavaram police station limits in Anakapalle district. In that incident, thieves fled with around 330 grams of gold and 1.5 kilograms of silver ornaments.

Police suspect that a local gang or someone known to Sujatha's family might have been involved in that crime. The proximity and nature of these two burglaries have raised alarms among residents and law enforcement, prompting heightened vigilance in the area.

Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activities and are continuing their efforts to solve both cases, with a focus on identifying patterns or connections between the incidents.
