Tragic Death of Dhanbad Teenager After Fifth-Floor Terrace Fall
A heartbreaking incident has unfolded in Dhanbad, where a 16-year-old boy has died after reportedly falling from the fifth-floor terrace of an apartment building. The victim, identified as Rishav Nishant, a Class 11 student at Delhi Public School, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, two days after the tragic event occurred at Vidyasagar Apartment on Luby Circular Road.
Medical Journey and Fatal Outcome
Following the fall, Rishav was initially rushed to Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his condition, he was subsequently transferred to a private medical facility in an effort to save his life. On Monday morning, doctors made the critical decision to refer him to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for advanced care. Tragically, the young student did not survive the journey, passing away near Bokaro while en route. Medical professionals confirmed that Rishav had sustained multiple severe injuries from the fall, which ultimately proved fatal.
Father Files FIR and Alleges Foul Play
In a distressing turn of events, Rishav's father, Kamta Prasad, has taken legal action by lodging a First Information Report (FIR) with the Dhanbad police. The complaint names neighbors Kuber Singh and his son Siddharth Singh as respondents. Kamta Prasad recounted that on the day of the incident, he observed Siddharth leaving the apartment building in the morning. Later, he received the devastating news that his son had fallen from the terrace. Adding to the suspicion, the father alleged that Rishav, in a faint state, told attending doctors, "Someone pushed me," though he did not specify any individual by name. Family members have also pointed to previous disputes between Rishav and Siddharth, suggesting a possible motive behind the tragic event.
Police Investigation Underway
Law enforcement authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Rishav's death. Officer in-charge of the Dhanbad police station, Manoj Pandey, provided an update, stating, "A formal statement has been recorded after the boy's death. We are examining footage of CCTV cameras installed in the premises and neighbourhood areas. Residents will also be questioned." The police are meticulously reviewing surveillance videos and planning to interview local residents to gather evidence and determine whether the fall was accidental or involved criminal intent. This case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting concerns over safety and interpersonal conflicts in residential areas.
