A 22-year-old woman was found murdered in her residence in South Delhi's Amar Colony on Wednesday, with police suspecting the involvement of a former house help in the case. The victim was the daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) official. Investigators believe she was strangled to death, likely with a mobile phone charging cable that was discovered at the scene.
Incident Details
A senior police officer stated that the incident came to light on Wednesday while the victim's parents were out for a walk. It is suspected that the former house help entered the residence and killed the woman. The suspect had been recently removed from his job, according to police sources. Investigators added that there is a strong possibility the victim was strangled using wires, possibly the charging cable found nearby.
Investigation Underway
Dedicated police teams have been formed to apprehend the suspect. Officers are currently scanning closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from across Amar Colony to track the individual's escape route. The police are also questioning neighbors and family members to gather more information about the suspect's whereabouts and motive.
The case highlights concerns about home security and the vetting of domestic help. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
