Delhi Traffic Police Issues Comprehensive Advisory for Dr. BR Ambedkar's 135th Birth Anniversary Celebrations
In preparation for the upcoming 135th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. BR Ambedkar, the Delhi Traffic Police has released a detailed advisory for Tuesday's events. The main public meeting is scheduled to take place at Ramlila Ground, with significant traffic management measures planned across central Delhi.
Event Schedule and Procession Route
The commemorative events will commence with a public gathering at Ramlila Ground, scheduled between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Following this assembly, a shobha yatra (procession) will proceed from the venue towards Ambedkar Bhawan located in Paharganj.
The procession route will cover extensive stretches of central Delhi, including:
- Ajmeri Gate and Shradhanand Market
- Khari Baoli and Qutub Road
- Sadar Bazar and Bara Tooti Chowk
- Pahari Dhiraj and Filmistan Cinema
- Manakpura and Sidhi Pura
- East Park Road and DBG Road
- Guru Ravidas Marg and Dev Nagar
- Kikar Wala Chowk and Hathi Wala Chowk
- Regar Pura and Arya Samaj Road
- Dr Ambedkar Marg and Rani Jhansi Marg
Traffic Management and Diversion Plans
Traffic diversions will be implemented on a need basis from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with particular focus on JLN Marg. Authorities have indicated that movement of heavy vehicles may be restricted through key entry points including Delhi Gate, Minto Road, and Ajmeri Gate during this period.
Commuters are strongly advised to avoid several major roads throughout the day to prevent congestion and delays. The list of roads to avoid includes:
- JLN Marg and Asaf Ali Road
- Chaman Lal Marg and Ajmeri Gate
- Minto Road and Qutub Road
- Rani Jhansi Marg and East Park Road
- DBG Road
Parking Regulations and Visitor Guidelines
Stringent parking restrictions will be enforced along JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Chaman Lal Marg, and the entire rally route. Vehicles parked in prohibited areas will be towed away and legal action will be taken against the owners.
For those attending the celebrations, designated parking has been arranged at Mata Sundari College. Visitors are encouraged to utilize this facility to avoid inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic flow in the surrounding areas.
The Delhi Traffic Police has emphasized that these measures are necessary to facilitate the large-scale celebrations while maintaining public safety and minimizing disruption to regular traffic patterns.
