According to police reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 7:30 pm in Chhat Ghat Park, Rana Park. The victim was sitting with friends around a bonfire when a group of approximately seven individuals approached the gathering and launched a physical assault. The confrontation quickly intensified when three of the attackers pulled out knives.
Despite managing to evade initial strikes from two assailants, the boy sustained a fatal stab wound—a deep injury between the armpit and ribs on the left side of his chest. As he began to bleed profusely, the attackers fled the scene. Friends rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival, underscoring the severity of the attack.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar V Swami stated that CCTV footage and technical data from mobile phones used by the assailants after the crime were crucial in tracking their movements. This evidence enabled overnight raids across Delhi, resulting in the arrest of five accused individuals.
