In a brazen and meticulously planned attack, a dairy businessman was brutally gunned down in south Delhi's Fatehpur Beri area. The victim, identified as Ratan, was ambushed by assailants who fired more than 70 rounds at him, leaving him with no chance to escape.
Chilling Details of the Premeditated Attack
According to police sources, the shooters travelled from neighbouring Faridabad to execute the murder. In a chilling revelation, it was found that the attackers conducted thorough reconnaissance and waited at the spot for nearly 30 minutes before launching their assault. Ratan's family stated he was on his way to his dairy in Aya Nagar on Sunday when he was surrounded and shot indiscriminately.
"After the May incident, Ratan received regular death threats. On Sunday, he told me he was going to the dairy and within 10 minutes, he was brutally killed," said Ram Kumar, the victim's brother, highlighting the looming threat.
Revenge and Land Dispute: Key Angles Under Investigation
Investigators are probing multiple angles, with a significant focus on a possible revenge motive. Police are looking into the potential role of a relative of a man who was allegedly killed by Ratan's son, Deepak, back in May. Deepak was arrested in that previous case.
The family has squarely linked the murder to an ongoing land dispute between two families, which escalated dramatically after the killing six months ago. Another relative, Dharmender, provided crucial insight into the attackers' modus operandi: "We came to know they arrived in a car and a motorcycle and kept moving around the area while waiting for their target."
Police Probe and Ongoing Investigations
A senior police officer indicated that the murder appears to be linked to personal rivalry, though all possibilities are being examined. Authorities suspect that 12 to 13 people were involved in the planning and execution of the killing.
As of now, no arrests have been made. The police are actively examining CCTV footage from the vicinity and other forensic evidence to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in this premeditated crime. The investigation remains ongoing as teams work to unravel the complete conspiracy behind the murder.
