Delhi Court Delivers Justice in Heinous Child Assault and Murder Case

A court in New Delhi has delivered a landmark conviction, finding a man guilty of committing unnatural sex, aggravated penetrative sexual assault, and the brutal murder of an 11-and-a-half-year-old child. The court emphatically stated that the injuries inflicted were "sufficient in all circumstances to cause death even of a matured person, and in the case of a minor child, the death becomes even more certain."

Complete Chain of Circumstances Established

Judge Amit Sahrawat, while convicting the accused under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, underscored that the prosecution had successfully established a complete and coherent chain of circumstances that pointed unerringly toward the guilt of the accused. After meticulously examining medical and forensic evidence, the court held that the case stood conclusively proven, noting that "there is no missing link in the said chain of events."

The court observed that when all facts were considered together, "the only hypothesis which could be drawn is that accused took away deceased, committed penetrative sexual assault and, thereafter, caused death of deceased child."

Chilling Details of the Crime and Investigation

According to the prosecution led by Aaditya Kumar, the tragic sequence began on January 2, 2019, when the child went missing after his father returned home around 6 PM. During the frantic search, the father encountered the accused, Karamvir Singh, who joined the efforts. An FIR under kidnapping was registered at 9:30 PM that same evening.

The next morning, Singh claimed he possessed "magical powers" and revealed a specific location near the Narela railway line. Acting on his directions, the devastated family discovered the child's body in a dilapidated building. Subsequent CCTV footage analysis showed the accused taking the child from a confectioner's shop toward Narela railway station, providing crucial visual evidence.

Following his arrest, Singh led police to recover bloodstained clothes and a knife. The forensic report provided damning confirmation: the child's blood was detected on Singh's jacket, towel, underwear, and the recovered knife, while his semen was found on the victim's clothes and anal swabs.

Court Rejects Supernatural Defense Claims

The court firmly rejected the defense's attempt to attribute the accused's knowledge to supernatural means, stating unequivocally that "there is nothing such like magical powers and all these are superstitious facts which have no relevance in law." Judge Sahrawat also questioned the logical inconsistency of the claim, observing that if Singh already knew the location, there was no reasonable explanation for him to join the search party initially.

Regarding the defense's argument that the victim's father was an "interested witness," the court strongly disagreed. "A father who has lost his child shall always try to ensure justice for his deceased child. It is not convincing that a father shall be interested in false implication of any person by letting the real culprit to go free," the judgment stated, affirming the credibility of the grieving parent's testimony.

This conviction represents a significant step in the judicial response to crimes against children, emphasizing the importance of forensic evidence and logical reasoning over baseless supernatural claims in delivering justice.
