CPI(ML) MP Sudama Prasad on Friday visited the family of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari (30), who succumbed to injuries on Wednesday after an alleged exchange of fire with police at Belauti village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district.
Press Conference Remarks
Addressing a press conference, Prasad questioned the police action and demanded a high-level judicial probe into the incident. He alleged that the circumstances leading to the youth’s death were suspicious and said action against the guilty should go beyond suspension.
Bharat's Advocacy
Prasad described Bharat as a vocal advocate for the rehabilitation of flood and erosion victims of Jawaniya village, much of which was submerged by the Ganga last year. He claimed the youth’s demands were ignored by authorities and sought an explanation for the alleged lack of timely mental health support.
Demands
- Rs50 lakh compensation for the bereaved family
- A government job for one family member
- Registration of a criminal case against the policemen allegedly involved
Prasad said he would raise the issue in Parliament.
