Chilling Confession Video Emerges Following Fatal Cafe Shooting in Northeast Delhi
NEW DELHI: A disturbing confession video has surfaced in connection with the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man at a cafe in northeast Delhi's Maujpur area, as police intensify their investigation into the killing and launch a manhunt for the suspects.
Targeted Attack Claims Young Life
Faizan, also known as Fazzi, was shot dead late on Friday night in what authorities describe as a targeted attack. The incident occurred at approximately 10:28 pm at a cafe located in the Welcome area of the city.
"A PCR call was received regarding a firing incident at the location. A police team rushed to the spot and found a man lying injured," stated a senior police officer involved in the case.
The victim was immediately transported to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where medical professionals declared him dead upon arrival, according to official police statements.
Suspect's Video Confession Claims Personal Motive
Shortly after the killing, a video circulated on social media platforms featuring a man believed to be the primary suspect. In the chilling footage, the individual openly claims responsibility for the shooting.
The suspect explicitly stated that the murder was driven by a personal grudge, vehemently denying any involvement from his family members or friends. "I killed Faizan over a personal grudge. My father had no role in this, nor did my family or friends have anything to do with it. I did not kill him on anyone's say-so, and there was no money involved. He had assaulted me months ago, so I shot him dead," he declared in the video recording.
Furthermore, the suspect directly refuted allegations made by Faizan's brother, Salman, who claimed the dispute was financially motivated.
Family Alleges Prolonged Dispute and Police Inaction
Faizan's brother, Salman, provided a contrasting narrative, alleging that the murder followed an extended period of conflict. He accused both the suspect and his father of direct involvement in the tragic incident.
"My brother was shot three times, but the police said that two magazine rounds were fired. One bullet hit him in the head and went right through. Two bullets hit him in the chest. He was also probably stabbed. He had cuts on his hands, so he must have struggled a lot," Salman recounted emotionally.
He continued, "My brother was 24 years old. He was a very simple man. He had taken out a loan. When he couldn't repay it, the father and son came to our house and started fighting. We had even filed a complaint at the Bhajanpura police station, but nothing happened. We just want justice. We want both the father and son to be arrested, and the strictest possible action taken against them. The police say they are on the run."
Police Investigation Intensifies with Multiple Avenues
Law enforcement authorities have mobilized significant resources to investigate the case thoroughly. A specialized crime team along with officials from the forensic science laboratory (FSL) conducted a detailed examination of the crime scene, collecting both physical and scientific evidence.
"A crime and forensic science laboratory (FSL) team inspected the scene and is collecting physical and scientific evidence," confirmed the investigating officer.
Authorities have registered a formal case under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with relevant sections of the Arms Act at the Welcome police station.
Comprehensive Investigative Measures Underway
Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting occurred either inside the cafe or in its immediate vicinity. Police are currently examining CCTV footage obtained from the cafe premises and surrounding areas to identify the accused individuals and reconstruct their movements before and after the incident.
Multiple police teams have been deployed to conduct raids at suspected locations where the perpetrators might be hiding. Additionally, local informers have been activated to gather crucial leads that could assist in apprehending the suspects.
Investigators are also questioning cafe staff members and other individuals who were present at the time of the shooting to obtain firsthand accounts and additional information about the events leading up to the tragedy.
