Beed Panchayat Employee Brutally Attacked by Mob in Nandalgaon, Motive Unclear
Class IV Employee Assaulted in Beed Village, FIR Filed

A violent assault on a Class IV employee of the Nandalgaon gram panchayat has sent shockwaves through Beed district. The incident, which occurred on Friday in Nandalgaon village under Gevrai taluka, left the victim with serious injuries, including fractures, after he was allegedly cornered and beaten by a mob of eight to ten men.

Details of the Brutal Attack

According to the Beed police, the victim was attacked with wooden sticks and iron rods. He was also subjected to repeated kicks and punches for several minutes before neighbours finally intervened. By the time the assault ended, the man had collapsed, bleeding heavily from multiple injuries. He was rushed to the Beed district hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment for his grievous wounds.

The victim's mother and sister approached the Talwada police station to file a formal complaint. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to assault, criminal intimidation, and rioting. Superintendent of police Navneet Kanwat stated that officers are actively identifying the accused, with arrests expected soon.

Police Probe Multiple Angles for Motive

While initial reports from the village suggested the attack was in retaliation for an alleged molestation incident involving the victim, investigators are keeping an open mind. A senior police officer emphasized that they have not ruled out other possibilities, such as personal enmity or long-standing disputes within the village community.

"We are verifying all angles and recording statements from the complainants as well as other villagers. The exact reason behind the attack will be confirmed after we complete the preliminary inquiry," the officer said. This careful approach indicates the sensitive and potentially complex nature of the case, which has heightened tensions in Nandalgaon.

Threats and Tension Grip the Village

The aftermath of the attack has been marked by fear and anxiety for the victim's family. In their complaint, the victim's relatives expressed fear of further harm from the alleged attackers. His mother claimed that several of the assailants issued fresh threats even after the brutal incident. "They beat him mercilessly and then threatened us. We are scared for his life," she stated in her police complaint.

The incident has created a palpable sense of unrest in Nandalgaon. Concerned villagers are now demanding strict legal action against the perpetrators and have called for increased police patrolling in the area to prevent any further escalation of violence or retaliatory acts.
