Ambala Police's CIA-1 Unit Arrests Father-Son Duo After Firefight in Murder Case
The CIA-1 unit of Ambala police has made a significant breakthrough by arresting two accused individuals in a murder case following a brief exchange of fire in the Mullana area of Ambala. The incident occurred last night, leading to the apprehension of a father-son duo involved in a violent crime.

The accused have been identified as Fariyad and his son, Usman, both residents of Uttar Pradesh. During the operation, the police recovered a weapon from their possession, adding to the evidence against them.
CIA-1 in-charge Harjinder Singh provided a detailed account of the events. He stated, "On the night of March 13, the accused killed a person and injured another individual at Kalpi village while attempting to steal buffaloes. A case was registered, and multiple teams were investigating the matter. During a routine check in the Mullana area, a two-wheeler without a number plate was spotted. Our team signalled the vehicle to stop, but the suspects fled."
He further explained, "The team started chasing them, and the accused attempted to escape via a kutcha road. Their bike slipped, and they opened fire at the police. In response, the police also fired, injuring one accused in the leg and the other in the foot. They were first taken to a medical facility in Mullana and later shifted to Civil Hospital in Ambala City for further treatment."
Background of the Murder Case
Preliminary investigations indicate that both accused were directly involved in the murder. It has been revealed that they reportedly have nearly 15 criminal cases against them, highlighting a history of unlawful activities.
The murder incident dates back to March 13, when 52-year-old Jaidayal was killed and Ramrattan was injured during an attack by buffalo thieves in Kalpi village, Mullana. The accused had stolen two buffaloes from Jaidayal's house and were loading them into a vehicle when Jaidayal tried to intervene. He was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and died on the spot. Ramrattan, who attempted to save him, sustained injuries in the process.
After the incident, the accused fled the scene, and their vehicle overturned during the escape. It was later discovered that the vehicle used in the crime had also been reported as stolen, adding another layer to their criminal activities.
