A horrific incident has shaken a village in Dholpur district, Rajasthan, where a seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped while watching a wedding procession on Thursday night. The crime occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of the Kaulari police station, prompting immediate police action and an ongoing investigation.

Details of the Alleged Assault

According to police reports, the incident unfolded when two wedding processions arrived in the village. The accused, who remains unidentified, allegedly lured the young child with betel nut and toffee, taking her to a dilapidated house where the assault took place. The girl was reportedly watching the festive procession when she was targeted.

A woman in the village reportedly witnessed the accused taking the girl and promptly alerted an elderly villager. However, by the time they reached the spot, the accused had fled, leaving the girl injured at the scene. The quick response from the villagers helped ensure the child received immediate attention.

Police Investigation and Legal Action

Police registered a case on Friday under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the unknown accused. Dholpur circle officer Khalil Ahmad Khilji confirmed that the girl's medical examination has been conducted by a medical board, and she is currently under the care of a team of doctors at the district hospital.

Khilji stated, "A case has been registered against the unknown accused under sections of the POCSO Act and BNS. The girl's medical examination has been completed, and she is receiving proper medical attention."

Ongoing Efforts to Identify the Accused

Preliminary investigations suggest the possibility that the accused was a guest attending one of the wedding processions, but his identity has not yet been established. Police are actively utilizing wedding videos and photographs from the event to identify the perpetrator.

Khilji added, "Preliminary investigation suggests the possibility of the accused being a wedding guest, but we have not established his identity yet. We are taking help of wedding videos and photos to identify the accused. The accused will be identified and arrested soon."

The police have assured the public that they are deploying all available resources to swiftly apprehend the culprit and ensure justice for the victim. The community remains in shock as authorities continue their probe into this distressing case.
