Chennai Police Launch Intensive Search for Mother and Acquaintance in Disturbing Rape and Impregnation Case
In a deeply troubling development from Chennai, law enforcement authorities have initiated a widespread manhunt for a woman and her male acquaintance. The pair are wanted in connection with the alleged rape and subsequent impregnation of the woman's own 20-year-old daughter, according to official police statements.
Survivor's Harrowing Account Reveals Systematic Abuse
Police investigators report that the young survivor provided a detailed account of the traumatic events. She identified the primary accused as Dakshinamoorthy, a 50-year-old man who was familiar with her mother and frequently visited their family residence. The survivor described how her mother allegedly administered sedative tablets to her on multiple occasions during January of this year.
On one particularly distressing instance, while in a drowsy state induced by the medication, the young woman discovered Dakshinamoorthy attempting to sexually assault her. Through tremendous effort and presence of mind, she managed to escape this immediate danger, but the ordeal was far from over.
Confinement and Subsequent Escape to Safety
Following these initial incidents, the situation escalated dramatically. Police state that the survivor's mother allegedly confined her daughter to a bedroom within their home, severely restricting her freedom and movement. After enduring this confinement, the young woman eventually managed to escape her constrained circumstances.
She sought and found refuge at her aunt's residence located in Tiruvannamalai, where she could finally access some measure of safety and support away from the alleged perpetrators.
Medical Discovery Leads to Criminal Case Registration
The case took a critical turn on February 18 when the survivor experienced severe abdominal pain that necessitated immediate medical attention. She was admitted to a government hospital where medical professionals conducted examinations that revealed a shocking development.
Doctors informed the young woman that she was approximately seven weeks pregnant, a discovery that directly correlated with the alleged assaults she had endured. Following proper medical consultation and with her full consent, the pregnancy was medically terminated through appropriate procedures.
Based on the survivor's detailed testimony and the medical evidence gathered, Chennai police have officially registered a criminal case against both the mother and Dakshinamoorthy. The investigation remains active as authorities continue their search for the accused individuals while gathering additional evidence to support the serious charges.
