The 36-year-old resident of Choolaimedu was apprehended from a private resort in Courtallam, located near Tenkasi. Kanagaraj was staying at the resort with his family to celebrate the Pongal festival.

Police officials revealed that Kanagaraj has a long criminal record. He is involved in more than fifteen serious criminal cases.
