Chandigarh Murder: Police Recover Snapchat Calls, Voice Notes from Victim's Phones
Chandigarh Murder: Digital Evidence Retrieved from Phones

In a major breakthrough in the murder case of 35-year-old Inderpreet Singh, alias Parry, the Chandigarh Police has successfully retrieved vital digital evidence from the victim's mobile phones. This evidence includes call recordings and deleted voice notes, which are now central to the investigation.

Digital Trail Points to Premeditated Attack

According to police sources, Parry was in possession of three mobile phones at the time he was shot dead at Timber Market in Sector 26 on Monday evening. Investigators have uncovered that Parry received multiple calls via Snapchat just before the attack. Sensing danger, Parry reportedly placed these calls on loudspeaker and simultaneously recorded the conversations on a separate device.

These recordings, which allegedly contain discussions about the meeting location, have now been recovered by the police. Additionally, the team has retrieved threatening voice notes that were sent to Parry on Snapchat. All this digital evidence has been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) for in-depth analysis.

Police sources added that the Snapchat accounts used to send the threatening messages were deleted shortly after the murder. Preliminary technical findings suggest these accounts were operated from locations outside India, including the USA and Singapore.

Stolen Vehicle Used by Assailants Traced to Rajasthan

In a parallel development, the police have cracked the mystery of the vehicle used by the attackers. The assailants had used a Hyundai Creta SUV, which was found to be stolen. The vehicle was originally stolen from Kota, Rajasthan, in 2024.

The perpetrators had gone to great lengths to conceal the vehicle's identity. They had tampered with and painted over the engine and chassis numbers and replaced the original number plate. The Chandigarh Police enlisted the help of an automobile specialist, who managed to uncover the original identifiers, conclusively proving the vehicle was stolen.

Victim's Alleged Gang Links and Investigation Focus

Inderpreet Singh Parry, who was found critically injured inside a Kia Seltos SUV and later succumbed at PGIMER, was known for his alleged associations with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. The police are now heavily relying on the digital footprint from Parry's devices to identify the masterminds and executors of this killing.

The combination of the recovered audio evidence and the forensic tracing of the getaway vehicle provides significant leads for the Chandigarh Police as they work to unravel the conspiracy behind the murder.
