Chandigarh police have made a significant breakthrough in the sensational murder of Inderpreet Singh, popularly known as Parry, recovering the vehicle used by the assailants. The Hyundai Creta was found abandoned in the Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) area of Panchkula late on Monday night, hours after the brazen killing in Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Gang War Erupts in Public Domain
Following the murder, the already simmering rivalry between two factions of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has exploded into the open. After the Bishnoi faction claimed responsibility for Parry's killing, his former aide-turned-archenemy, Goldy Brar, allegedly released a chilling audio message on social media.
In the audio clip, Brar directly addressed Lawrence Bishnoi, vowing to avenge what he termed the murder of an "innocent Parry." He issued a stark warning, stating, "no one in the world can save him (Lawrence) now." Brar provided a detailed account of the events leading to the murder, alleging that Bishnoi lured Parry to the spot in Sector 26 under the pretext of discussing a personal matter and delivering a secure communication device.
Brar slammed Bishnoi for betraying a close friend, revealing that Lawrence had spent many nights at Parry's house and was treated like a son by Parry's parents. "Today, their friendship turned false. Lawrence was a traitor to friendship," the audio message stated, promising that the act would not go unpunished.
Police Investigation Intensifies
On the ground, law enforcement agencies from Chandigarh and Panchkula are scrambling for clues. Investigation has revealed that the registration number on the recovered Hyundai Creta, PB-10DN-5333, was fake. The genuine number is registered to a Balwinder Singh from Ludhiana.
Police sources indicate that after abandoning the car at MDC, the assailant fled the scene on a motorcycle. Authorities are now scouring CCTV footage from both Panchkula and Chandigarh to trace the escape route and identify the individuals involved.
Forensic analysis suggests a well-planned attack. A total of 11 bullets were fired at Parry's vehicle using two different pistols. The police believe three individuals, including two shooters, were directly involved in the execution. The assailants first got out of their car, entered the following Creta, and then opened indiscriminate fire on Parry's car, ensuring he had no chance of survival.
In a significant development, a senior police official confirmed that two shooters have been identified, and raids are underway across Punjab and Haryana to apprehend them. While no arrests have been made yet, police are confident of a breakthrough soon.
Chandigarh police have detained approximately seven suspects for questioning. The detainees include friends of the victim and staff members from a local nightclub. However, police have remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the investigation or the identities of those detained.
Postmortem and Gang Claims
The postmortem examination of Parry's body was conducted at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI). The procedure began around 3:30 PM on Tuesday and concluded at approximately 9:00 PM. The report, as per sources, revealed seven bullet wounds on Parry's body. Surgeons extracted three bullets that were lodged inside during the autopsy. The body remains in the PGI mortuary, with the last rites scheduled for Wednesday.
The public claim for the murder was made by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with members including Aarzoo Bishnoi, Hari Boxer, Shubham Lonkar, and Harman Sandhu stating online that a "new war has begun." They labeled Parry a traitor who was taking calls from rivals Goldy Brar and Rohit and collecting money from nightclubs.
Their online post also served as a warning to bookies, club owners, and anyone assisting their rivals, threatening lethal consequences regardless of their location. This public declaration marks a dangerous escalation in the gang's activities, moving their conflicts from the shadows into the digital realm.
In his lengthy audio message, Goldy Brar also sought to justify previous actions, including the killing of another Lawrence aide, Jora Sidhu alias Sippa. He claimed Sippa was a police informer who embezzled crores of rupees and was interfering in their work. Brar concluded by asserting that Parry's only mistake was considering Lawrence Bishnoi a friend, a mistake he paid for with his life just days after his wedding.
