Chandigarh Schools Receive Bomb Threats, Security Agencies Swiftly Respond
Bomb Threats at Chandigarh Schools Prompt Security Response

Chandigarh Schools Targeted by Bomb Threat Emails

Two private educational institutions in Chandigarh were the recipients of alarming bomb threat emails on Friday, according to official statements. This development prompted an immediate and comprehensive response from multiple security agencies, who swiftly mobilized to ensure the safety of the premises.

Immediate Security Deployment and Thorough Checks

Upon receiving the threats, authorities dispatched fire brigade teams, specialized bomb disposal squads, trained dog squads, and medical ambulances to the school campuses. A meticulous anti-sabotage inspection was conducted across both locations to rule out any potential dangers. As a precautionary measure, security was significantly enhanced in and around the school premises, with increased surveillance and monitoring to prevent any untoward incidents.

Pattern of Similar Hoax Threats in the Region

Officials noted that this incident is part of a concerning trend, with similar bomb threats being reported in recent weeks from schools in various cities including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, and several parts of Haryana. In all these previous cases, the threats were ultimately declared hoaxes after thorough investigations revealed no credible danger. Just a few days prior to this event, the Punjab Civil Secretariat also received a bomb threat email, which similarly turned out to be unfounded.

No Explosives Found, Situation Under Control

Following exhaustive checks at the Chandigarh schools, security personnel confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosive materials were discovered. The threats appear to be part of a coordinated hoax campaign, though investigations are ongoing to identify the source and motives behind these communications. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, while reassuring parents and students that the situation is under control and normalcy has been restored at the affected schools.
