Body of 35-Year-Old Man Discovered Floating in Hazaribag's Charwa Dam
The body of a 35-year-old man was found floating in Charwa Dam in Hazaribag on Thursday morning, sending shockwaves through the local community. The deceased has been identified as Guddu Tiwari, a resident of Balumath in Latehar district.
Discovery by Morning Walkers
The grim discovery was made by local residents who were out for their morning walk near the reservoir. They immediately alerted the authorities upon spotting the body floating in the water.
A team from the Pelawal police out-post quickly arrived at the scene and recovered the body. The remains were then sent to the sadar hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police Investigation and Suspected Suicide
According to Ved Prakash Pandey, the in-charge of Pelawal police out-post, preliminary investigations suggest that Tiwari had come to Hazaribag to visit his sister. "The deceased was reportedly under significant mental stress due to an ongoing domestic dispute," Pandey stated.
Police are currently treating this as a suspected case of suicide, though they emphasize that the final determination will depend on the findings from the postmortem report. "Further investigation is underway to gather more details about the circumstances leading to his death," Pandey added.
Background of the Deceased
Guddu Tiwari, hailing from Balumath in Latehar district, was known to be visiting his sister in Hazaribag at the time of the incident. The police have not released further details about the nature of the domestic dispute that allegedly caused him mental anguish.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward as they continue their probe into this tragic event.
