Delhi Police Nabs Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Shooter in West Delhi Operation

Delhi Police made a significant arrest on Friday, capturing a shooter associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The operation took place in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area, where the Anti-Gangster Squad of the Crime Branch acted on specific intelligence.

Accused Identified as Pradeep Sharma from Agra

The arrested individual is Pradeep Sharma, a 23-year-old resident of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Police officials confirmed his direct involvement with the Bishnoi gang's criminal activities. His arrest connects directly to two separate FIRs filed in Rajasthan.

These cases involve serious charges including:

  • Extortion attempts targeting businessmen
  • Multiple firing incidents
  • Illegal arms and ammunition supply

Background of Criminal Activities

Sharma's criminal record dates back to March last year. According to police investigations, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang demanded a massive extortion amount of Rs 4 crore from a businessman operating in Sri Ganganagar's Jawahar Nagar area of Rajasthan.

When the businessman refused to comply with their demands, the gang allegedly assigned Sharma to execute a firing attack. This attack aimed to intimidate the businessman into submission.

In May last year, Sharma and his associates reportedly opened fire at the businessman's residence. Following this incident, authorities registered a formal case and made initial arrests. Sharma managed to secure bail but continued his criminal operations without interruption.

Expansion into Arms Supply Network

After his release, Sharma allegedly expanded his criminal portfolio. He began supplying weapons and ammunition to various members of the Bishnoi gang. This activity continued until December 2025, when Rajasthan Police arrested four gang members in Jaipur's Jawahar Nagar area.

During that investigation, police recovered a substantial cache of illegal weapons. Further questioning revealed Sharma as the primary source of these arms. Authorities subsequently registered a separate Arms Act case against him in Rajasthan.

Coordinated Police Operation Leads to Arrest

Delhi Police received specific intelligence inputs about Sharma's location in Uttam Nagar. The Anti-Gangster Squad immediately launched surveillance operations to track his movements. On Friday, they conducted a targeted raid that resulted in his successful apprehension.

Following initial questioning at the crime branch, Delhi Police formally handed Sharma over to Rajasthan Police. This transfer enables further investigation into his extensive criminal network across state lines.

Ongoing Investigations and Network Mapping

Police officials describe Sharma as an active and dangerous associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. His operations primarily focused on Rajasthan, where he supplied weapons and assisted in various criminal activities.

Investigators are now working to identify all his associates and trace the complete network. This effort aims to dismantle the broader criminal infrastructure supporting such illegal operations.

The coordinated effort between Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police demonstrates improved inter-state cooperation in tackling organized crime. Such collaborations become increasingly crucial as criminal networks expand their operations across multiple jurisdictions.
