The police also recovered the looted motorcycle, a country-made pistol, and cartridges from his possession.

Police Operation and Encounter

On Tuesday night, the Atrauliya police were conducting a routine checking operation to apprehend the accused. During this, they received a tip-off from an informer that a criminal involved in the robbery was heading from Madiyapar towards Bahradev temple on the stolen motorcycle. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the police team laid a cordon near Khaderupatti.

When the police attempted to intercept the suspect, he opened fire on the team while trying to flee. In a retaliatory action taken in self-defence, the accused was injured. The police ensured that he received immediate medical attention.

Confession and Further Investigation

During interrogation, the accused admitted to committing the robbery along with his associates. The ASP stated that police teams are conducting raids to arrest the other accused involved in the case. Further investigation is underway.
