Bike taxi rider arrested for misbehaving with woman

Chennai: A bike taxi rider was arrested for misbehaving with a 25-year-old woman from Meghalaya when she was riding pillion at Kodungaiyur on Thursday night.

The woman said she booked a ride at around 8.45 pm, and a man aged around 30 years arrived to pick her up. While they were travelling, the rider misbehaved with her. When she objected and raised an alarm, he assaulted her. After he dropped her at Kodungaiyur, she approached the police and lodged a complaint.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the suspect. He was sent to Puzhal prison.
