Ulhasnagar: An inmate from Bhiwandi, identified as Abid Istiaq Ansari, who is currently lodged in Adharwadi Jail, created a disturbance at the Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar on Monday after doctors declined to admit him for treatment. Ansari, who had been complaining of severe stomach pain for two days, was brought to the hospital by jail authorities for medical evaluation. Following a routine examination, hospital doctors prescribed medication and advised against hospitalization, instructing the jail officials to take the inmate back to prison.

Angered by the doctors' decision, Ansari reportedly banged his head against the glass of Cabin No. 13, sustaining minor injuries. He insisted, “Admit me immediately; I am not in a condition to be taken back,” and created a disturbance within the hospital premises. Ansari has been in Adharwadi Jail since 2023 and is facing legal action under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), registered by the Kongaon Police Station.
