Bengaluru Police Swiftly Locate Missing 7-Year-Old Girl Using CCTV Footage

In a prompt and efficient response, staff from a Hoysala police vehicle successfully traced a seven-year-old girl who went missing from her residence in Chikkagollarahatti, Byadarahalli, on the afternoon of April 16. The incident highlights the crucial role of technology and community cooperation in ensuring public safety.

Alert Public and Quick Police Action

The mother of the girl was seen searching for her child around 12:15 PM. Concerned members of the public noticed her distress and immediately contacted the police control room by dialing the emergency number 112. This swift public response triggered the police intervention.

The task was promptly assigned to Hoysala-93, which was manned by Assistant Sub-Inspector Shivanna and Constable Shivaraj. The officers quickly arrived at the scene and interacted with the girl's mother to gather details.

Investigation and Tracing Efforts

From the mother, the police learned that the girl had been playing outside her house with a few other children shortly before she went missing. When questioned, the other children informed the mother that the girl had gone ahead, leading to initial confusion about her whereabouts.

The Hoysala staffers acted decisively. They proceeded to a few shops on the road where the children had been playing and reviewed the CCTV footage available there. This technological aid proved instrumental in tracing the girl's movements.

Discovery and Safe Recovery

The investigation revealed that the girl, in an attempt to find other children who were playing in a nearby park, had walked away and subsequently lost her way. Approximately 45 minutes after she was reported missing, the police located her near a shop about a kilometer away from her home.

Byadarahalli police provided further details, stating, "Even the shop owner had noticed that the girl was alone and was questioning her when we reached." This indicates that community vigilance also played a part in the safe recovery.

The combined efforts of the alert public, the responsive Hoysala police team, and the effective use of CCTV footage ensured the girl was found safe and reunited with her family without delay.
