Bengaluru Witnesses Heartbreaking Family Tragedy
A young mother and her little daughter lost their lives in a devastating incident in Bengaluru. The tragedy unfolded in Krishnappanagar, Sanjaynagar, on Thursday evening.
Fatal Evening After Phone Argument
Seetalakshmi G, a 29-year-old domestic help, poured kerosene on herself and her four-year-old daughter Srushti G. She then set them both on fire. This desperate act followed a heated telephone argument with her husband.
Neighbors heard the young girl's cries for help from a window around 7 PM. They rushed to the scene, broke open the main door of the house, and found the mother and daughter with severe burns. The neighbors immediately shifted both victims to the burns ward at Victoria Hospital.
Seetalakshmi passed away the same night. Her daughter, Srushti, fought for her life but succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning. The entire community is in shock over this heartbreaking loss.
Police Uncover Troubled Marital History
Police officers investigating the case revealed a pattern of conflict within the family. Preliminary findings indicate Seetalakshmi was involved in a long-standing dispute with her spouse, Govind Bahaddur.
The couple originally came to Bengaluru from Nepal seven years ago. Govind worked various jobs, often as a security guard or daily-wage laborer. According to police, the husband and wife fought regularly.
A few months before the incident, Govind returned to their hometown in Nepal. He took their six-year-old son with him. Seetalakshmi remained in Bengaluru with their daughter.
"She called her husband many times, asking him to come back to Bengaluru," a police officer stated. "But he reportedly told her to return to Nepal instead. Their final argument happened over the phone on Thursday evening, just before the tragedy."
The investigation continues as authorities piece together the exact sequence of events leading to this fatal decision.
Separate Incident: Woman Rescued After Suicide Attempt
In a separate but equally distressing case, police in Ramanagara, Bengaluru South district, rescued a 22-year-old woman on Thursday. She had attempted to take her own life by consuming sleeping pills.
The woman, a resident of Gattigunda village in Kanakapura, made the attempt outside the local women's police station. Her motive was a failed relationship.
She left a note accusing a man named Arun Nayak from Terigedoddi village. The note claimed he cheated her with a false promise of marriage after an 18-month relationship.
Police found her in a semi-conscious state and quickly moved her to a nearby hospital. Medical staff report her condition is now stable.
"According to her statement, Nayak was in a relationship with her and promised marriage," explained a police officer involved in the case. "He also had a physical relationship with her. Recently, he started avoiding her. She tried repeatedly to contact him and his family, but her efforts were unsuccessful."
This rescue highlights the ongoing issues of emotional distress and relationship conflicts in the region. Authorities are providing support while investigating the woman's allegations.
