Bengaluru Engineer Faces Bigamy Charges in Elaborate Marriage Fraud Scheme

In a shocking case of calculated deception emerging from Bengaluru, a private company engineer working in the Jigani area has been formally accused of orchestrating a multi-woman marriage fraud scheme. The accused, identified as Ravi, a native of Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru district and in his early 30s, allegedly turned relationships into a systematic business of deceit, marrying two women and getting engaged to another while falsely presenting himself as unmarried.

Complaint Unveils Pattern of Deception

The elaborate scam unraveled after Ravi's first wife filed an official complaint with the Jigani police, leading to the registration of a formal case encompassing charges of cheating and bigamy. According to the complaint, Ravi married the complainant in January 2024. However, shortly after the wedding, his behavior began raising serious red flags. The wife has accused him of making inappropriate remarks about other women, coercing her into uncomfortable situations, and even pressuring her to invite friends to their home. Furthermore, he allegedly demanded dowry from her. Disturbingly, while she was pregnant, Ravi reportedly initiated a search for another bride, showcasing a blatant disregard for his marital commitments.

Engagement and Second Marriage Exposed

The deception escalated in October 2024 when Ravi allegedly got engaged to another woman under the false pretense of being single. This fraudulent engagement was exposed when his first wife proactively alerted the bride's family. The revelation triggered a dramatic confrontation at Ravi's residence, where enraged family members of the second woman allegedly physically assaulted him in response to the betrayal.

Continued Deceit Despite Exposure

Remarkably, even after being exposed, Ravi is accused of persisting with his fraudulent activities. In December 2025, he allegedly married yet another woman, once again concealing his true marital status. When his first wife and her family confronted him regarding this second marriage, tensions erupted into a heated altercation. Reports indicate that her family members, along with local residents, reportedly thrashed him during the confrontation. Currently, Ravi is on the run, and law enforcement authorities are actively engaged in efforts to trace and apprehend him. The case highlights a severe breach of trust and legal boundaries, with police continuing their investigation into the full extent of his alleged crimes.
