Baramulla Police Seize Two Illegal Foreign-Made Pistols

In a joint operation, Baramulla police have seized two illegal foreign-made pistols, according to officials on Wednesday.

Checkpoint Interception Leads to First Recovery

The police established a checkpoint at Chandsuma in Kanispora. During routine checking, a white Maruti Brezza traveling from Srinagar towards Baramulla was intercepted for inspection. The vehicle carried two occupants. A thorough search revealed a pistol manufactured in Turkey from a bag belonging to the co-passenger. The individual failed to produce any valid license or legal authorization for possession of the weapon.

The accused was identified as Wakeel Ahmed Theekri, a resident of Kamalkot in Uri. He was arrested on the spot.
