Bar Council Elections in Punjab and Haryana: Polling Parties Deployed for Voting Today
Authorities in the districts of Karnal and Kaithal have finalized all preparations for the Punjab and Haryana Bar Council elections, scheduled for March 18, with polling parties dispatched following comprehensive training sessions. The administration has emphasized that the elections will be conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, ensuring a smooth and impartial voting process for all legal professionals involved.
Kaithal District: Detailed Polling Arrangements
In Kaithal, Deputy Commissioner Aparajita announced that polling will be held from 9 am to 5 pm. A total of four polling stations have been established across the district to accommodate the electorate. Specifically, three booths have been set up on the first floor of the Kaithal Bar Association, where 1,659 advocates are expected to cast their votes. Additionally, one booth has been arranged at the Guhla Bar Association to serve 146 voters. To oversee the proceedings, six polling parties have been deployed, including four main teams and two reserve teams, ensuring robust management and contingency support.
SDM Ajay Hooda has been appointed as the nodal officer for Kaithal, while SDM Pramesh Singh will supervise polling activities in the Guhla-Cheeka area. The Deputy Commissioner has issued strict instructions to provide adequate security and basic facilities. Police authorities have been directed to make comprehensive arrangements, and relevant departments are tasked with ensuring uninterrupted electricity and water supply throughout the voting period.
Karnal District: Enhanced Logistical and Security Measures
Karnal Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh reiterated that conducting the Bar Council elections in a peaceful and impartial manner remains the top priority. Polling will take place at five stations distributed across the district—four in Karnal and one in Assandh. A total of 3,247 voters are anticipated to exercise their franchise, reflecting significant participation from the legal community.
The administration has appointed nodal officers and strengthened both logistical and security arrangements to facilitate a seamless election process. These measures include enhanced coordination among various departments to address any potential challenges and ensure that all voting locations are well-equipped and secure.
