Banda Veterinary Doctor Files FIR Against Wife for Alleged Elopement with Boyfriend
A 28-year-old veterinary doctor in Banda's Kalinjar area has lodged a formal police complaint against his wife, accusing her of eloping with her boyfriend and absconding with significant valuables, including gold, silver, and Rs 25 lakh in cash. The incident, which occurred just a month after their wedding, has sparked a police investigation into the matter.
Details of the Alleged Crime
The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, stated that his 24-year-old wife vanished on the morning of March 23, 2024, following their wedding on February 19, 2024. He claimed that the elopement took place in the early hours, with neighbours reportedly witnessing her departure with three unidentified men in a car around 1:30 am. The FIR was filed on March 22, 2024, but the man admitted to delaying the complaint due to concerns over social stigma and embarrassment.
Investigation and Police Response
Kalinjar police station in-charge Sukhram Singh confirmed that a case has been registered based on the veterinary doctor's complaint. Police are actively searching for the woman and attempting to trace her location. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the wife's boyfriend was in contact with her family, suggesting a premeditated plan. The man named his wife, her boyfriend, and three unknown persons in the complaint, alleging that the boyfriend had even visited their home under the guise of a photoshoot to assess the property.
Family Involvement and Background
According to the complainant, his in-laws initially denied knowledge of their daughter's whereabouts but later disclosed that she had been in a two-year affair with a photographer. They stated that she had wanted to marry him but faced opposition from the family. The man further alleged that his wife had orchestrated the boyfriend's visit to a family function at their residence, purportedly for a photoshoot, to survey the house and plan the theft.
Impact and Ongoing Developments
The case highlights issues of marital fraud and property theft in rural areas, with authorities urging the public to report similar incidents promptly. Police are continuing their efforts to locate the suspects and recover the stolen assets, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in such investigations.
