Azamgarh Police Exhume Body of 3-Year-Old Boy for Murder Investigation

Devgaon police in Azamgarh district took a significant step on Wednesday. They exhumed the body of a three-year-old boy from Chevarpur Puran village. Officers sent the remains for a detailed post-mortem examination.

A Tragic Discovery and Initial Assumptions

The young boy was found dead on December 13. His family discovered his body inside a buffalo shed. Initially, relatives believed the child died from injuries. They thought he was trampled by animal hooves. Following this assumption, the family buried the body. They did not inform the local police about the incident at that time.

A Mother's Suspicion Triggers Police Action

A few days after the burial, the boy's mother grew suspicious. She began to doubt the initial story. The mother expressed a strong belief that her son was murdered elsewhere. She suspected someone dumped his body in the buffalo shed later.

Acting on her fears, she submitted a formal application. She sent it to Azamgarh Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar. In her application, she pleaded for a fair and thorough probe into her son's death.

Official Procedure for Exhumation

Circle Officer Lalganj Bhupesh Pandey explained the process. Acting on directives from senior officials, Devgaon police prepared a report. They sent this report to the District Magistrate. The report formally sought permission to exhume the buried body.

The District Magistrate issued the necessary order on January 14. Following this order, a police team from Devgaon reached the riverbank burial site. They exhumed the body under the direct supervision of the magistrate and the Circle Officer.

The entire exhumation process was carefully documented. Police conducted videography to record every step. After exhumation, they immediately sent the body for a post-mortem.

Medical Examination and Awaiting Answers

A panel of doctors performed the post-mortem procedure. Medical professionals also videographed this examination for official records.

Circle Officer Pandey stated that the post-mortem report is crucial. "The report will clarify the actual cause of death," he said. He added that authorities will decide the course of further legal action based on these medical findings.

Recounting the Day of the Incident

Reports provide more details about December 13. The victim's father was away in Itarsi on that day. His mother was working inside their home. The three-year-old boy was playing alone outside.

Later, family members found his body in the buffalo shed. Their initial conclusion pointed to a tragic accident with the animals. This led to the quick burial without police notification or a medical examination.

The mother's decision to involve police came after a chilling discovery. She noticed a blood-stained slipper belonging to her child. This piece of evidence strengthened her suspicion of foul play. It compelled her to seek official help for a proper investigation into the heartbreaking incident.
