The team halted a vehicle that was traveling from Jagun in Assam towards Bordumsa in Arunachal Pradesh. The arrest occurred near the Wagun Ponthai tri-junction on National Highway 215, within the jurisdiction of the Bordumsa circle, as confirmed by Changlang Superintendent of Police Kirli Padu on Monday.
Seizure of Contraband and Evidence
A thorough and meticulous search of the intercepted vehicle led to the discovery of 42.93 grams of suspected heroin, cleverly concealed within four soap cases. The illicit substance was hidden beneath the steering box of the vehicle, indicating a sophisticated attempt to evade detection. The estimated street value of the seized heroin is approximately Rs 2.74 lakh, underscoring the financial scale of the illegal operation.
In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials recovered two mobile handsets and Rs 4,900 in cash from the suspects. Identification of the Accused
The arrested individuals have been identified as Anil Sharma, aged 46, and Dulu Baruah, aged 40.
