Armed Robbers Loot Rs 6 Lakh, Gold from Kalahandi Home

In a daring heist, armed men robbed Rs 6 lakh in cash, 15 tolas of gold jewellery, and 20 tolas of silver ornaments from the residence of businessman Anand Agarwal in Balangir. The incident took place on Monday night under the Lanjigarh police station limits in Kalahandi district.

Details of the Robbery

The burglary occurred around 2 am when six to eight masked and armed men broke into the house located in front of the Vedanta township gate. The assailants threatened the family at gunpoint and executed the theft swiftly, leaving the family traumatized.

Josobanta Hial, the IIC of Lanjigarh police station, confirmed the incident. "The burglary occurred around 2 am. Agarwal operates a kiosk banking service," Hial said.

Investigation Underway

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and questioning neighbors to identify the culprits. The robbers are believed to have local knowledge of the area.
