The discovery of animal remains stuffed inside a plastic sack in a forest in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district triggered widespread outrage and protests on Tuesday. The incident occurred near Ruppura village in the Mandal area, leading to a dharna by local villagers and members of various Hindu organisations demanding immediate police action.
Outrage and Dharna at the Forest Site
Upon receiving information about the grim discovery, BJP MLA Udaylal Bhadana reached the spot along with local residents and office-bearers of the protesting organisations. The protesters staged a sit-in, alleging that the remains were deliberately dumped and expressing anger over what they perceived as a malicious act. They demanded the swift arrest of those responsible for the incident.
Police Investigation and Detentions
Bhilwara Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh stated that police teams reached the forest location promptly. Evidence was collected from the scene, and a case has been registered against unknown persons. "Around six youths have been detained for questioning," SP Singh confirmed. He added that the exact species of the animal would be confirmed only after a thorough investigation.
Local Leaders Allege Pattern, Demand Justice
Former Mandal Pradhan Gopal Saraswat made a specific claim about the findings. He stated that the sack was discovered in a forest area named after Lord Devnarayan and contained the severed body of a calf. Saraswat further alleged that similar incidents had occurred in the region earlier, heightening local tensions. He declared that the protest would continue until arrests were made.
In an effort to calm the situation, Mandal Deputy SP Rahul Joshi and Tehsildar Uttam Jangid held talks with the agitating crowd. They appealed for peace and assured the protesters of a fair and speedy investigation, promising strict legal action against anyone found guilty.
The incident has stirred significant communal sentiment in the area, with authorities now under pressure to resolve the case quickly to restore normalcy.
