Aligarh Tutor Arrested for Alleged Sexual Harassment of 8-Year-Old Student

A private tuition teacher in Aligarh faces serious legal action after allegations of sexual harassment emerged from an 8-year-old student. Police arrested the 35-year-old educator on Saturday. They filed a case against him under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

Incident Details and Parental Complaint

The disturbing incident came to light when the young girl, a Class 3 student, confided in her parents. She reported the alleged misconduct following a tuition class on Friday. The parents immediately took action by approaching the local police station. They submitted a detailed written complaint outlining the events.

In her complaint, the girl's mother described the troubling sequence of events. Her daughter had attended tuition at the teacher's residence around 3.30 pm. After returning home, the child expressed reluctance to continue attending classes. When questioned about her sudden change of heart, the girl revealed the teacher's inappropriate behavior.

The mother stated, "My daughter said the teacher repeatedly kept his hands on her private part. He continued this action despite her clear resistance. My daughter appeared visibly frightened and distressed after the incident."

Police Response and Legal Action

Station House Officer Prabal Pratap Singh confirmed the police response to the complaint. "Based on the parental complaint, we registered a case under Section 75 of the BNS," Singh explained. This section specifically addresses sexual harassment involving unwelcome physical contact. Police also invoked relevant sections of the Pocso Act to address the child protection aspects of the case.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Garvit Singh provided additional details about the investigation. "We arrested the accused teacher after receiving the formal complaint," DSP Singh stated. "Our team is currently questioning him as part of the ongoing investigation. We will take appropriate legal action based on our findings."

The police emphasized their commitment to thorough investigation. They assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure justice in this sensitive case involving a minor student.
