Ajmer Police Arrest Two Men, Seize Illegal Firearms in 24-Hour Crackdown
In a significant crackdown on illegal weapons, Ajmer police have arrested two men in separate operations conducted over a 24-hour period, seizing multiple firearms. Officials confirmed the arrests on Wednesday, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat arms trafficking in the region.
First Arrest Near Chakla Market
According to Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harsh Vardhan Agarwalla, the first operation was carried out by Gandhinagar police during routine checking near Chakla Market. The police team apprehended a suspect identified as Iqbal, a resident of Jaipur Rural area.
During the search, officers recovered a country-made pistol, commonly known as a desi katta, from Iqbal's possession. Additionally, his motorcycle was seized as part of the investigation. A formal case has been registered under the stringent provisions of the Arms Act, with authorities pursuing legal action against the accused.
Second Operation in Transport Nagar Area
In a coordinated second operation, the District Special Team collaborated with Ramganj police to arrest another individual based on specific intelligence. The police received a credible tip-off regarding an impending illegal weapon delivery in the Transport Nagar area.
Acting swiftly on the information, the police team intercepted 26-year-old Anwar, a resident of Somalpur, at a secluded spot. Upon searching him, officers recovered an illegal pistol along with a magazine. This arrest underscores the proactive measures taken by law enforcement to prevent weapon-related crimes before they occur.

Police officials have emphasized that further investigation is actively underway to trace the origins and distribution network of the seized firearms.
