According to police reports and witness accounts, the collision occurred as the motorcycle was descending the bridge from the Viashnodevi side. The dumper, bearing the registration number GJ 24 X 5130, violently rammed into the two-wheeler, causing immediate and severe harm to both riders.

Inspector R V Vinchhi of the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar traffic police provided crucial insights into the event. "The accident took place when the motorcycle was driving down the bridge from the Viashnodevi side. A dumper with the registration number, GJ 24 X 5130, rammed into the two-wheeler. Both men sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot," he stated.

Identification of the Victims and Driver

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Narpat Danfi, a 27-year-old resident of Tharad, who was living at a paying guest accommodation near Kocharb Ashram in Paldi, Ahmedabad.
  • Sushilkumar Prasad, a resident of Ballabhgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

Police investigations suggest that Prasad may have booked the motorcycle ride through a radio cab service, adding a layer of complexity to the case. The driver of the dumper involved in the crash has been identified as Vimal Dodiya, a 26-year-old from Fatepura in Dahod district.

Current Status and Legal Proceedings

As of the latest reports, a formal complaint had not been registered in connection with the accident. Authorities are likely continuing their inquiries to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision and to assess any potential negligence or violations of traffic rules.
