Minor Boy Injured in Ahmedabad Shop Dispute Over Rs 40 Purchase

A minor boy sustained head injuries in Ahmedabad on Friday afternoon. The incident followed a heated dispute over a purchase worth just forty rupees. Two men allegedly vandalized a pan parlour and assaulted the boy in the New Ranip area.

Police Register FIR After Violent Altercation

Sabarmati police registered a First Information Report on Saturday. The incident occurred on January 16. According to police officials, the entire confrontation started with a simple transaction.

The two men bought cigarettes and snacks totaling Rs 40 from the shop. One of the customers asked the shop owner for credit. The owner refused this request. The other man then paid the full amount.

Before leaving the premises, both individuals allegedly threatened to demolish the entire shop. They made these threats in a menacing manner.

Violence Erupts During Second Confrontation

The duo returned to the pan parlour later. They allegedly damaged the shop counter during this second visit. The shop owner's son witnessed the vandalism and objected to their actions.

When the boy protested, one of the men allegedly struck him on the head with a stick. The blow caused bleeding injuries. The minor required medical attention following the assault.

Police are investigating the case thoroughly. They are examining all available evidence from the scene. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.

Local residents expressed shock over the violence. Many noted that such a severe reaction over a small amount of money seemed disproportionate. The community is calling for increased police patrols in the New Ranip area.

Shop owners in the neighborhood are concerned about their safety. They worry similar incidents could occur if disputes escalate quickly. Business operators are discussing security measures with local authorities.

The injured boy is currently recovering from his wounds. His family is cooperating with police investigators. They hope for swift justice in this troubling case.
