In a shocking case of premeditated murder, a 45-year-old electrician from Agra was brutally killed in Aligarh district in a conspiracy allegedly orchestrated by his own wife and her lover, who hired contract killers for the job. Police have arrested three individuals, while the two shooters remain at large.
The Grisly Plot and Murder
The victim, identified as Raj Kumar Sharma from Agra's Sikandra area, had reportedly objected to his wife Jyoti Sharma's alleged relationship with a man named Bobby Kumar. According to the Aligarh police investigation, this opposition led to a deadly plot to eliminate him.
The plan was set in motion on December 17. Bobby Kumar called Raj Kumar under the pretext of lending him Rs 40,000, luring him to travel to Aligarh. Raj Kumar took a roadways bus and met Bobby under an overbridge on Agra Road. Bobby's associate, Sandeep, later arrived in his car, and the three men drove around for several hours. During this time, Raj Kumar was made to consume alcohol.
Execution of the Crime
Later that night, the trio drove to a deserted location in the Lodha police station area. There, two hired shooters—identified as Harish and Sunny—arrived. In a cold-blooded execution, Raj Kumar was shot dead inside the vehicle itself. His body was then dumped by the roadside in Atravat village, and the shooters fled the scene.
An unidentified body was discovered the same night, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The body was later confirmed to be that of Raj Kumar Sharma.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Through technical surveillance and evidence, the police uncovered the conspiracy. Aligarh City SP Mrigank Shekhar Pathak stated that the investigation clearly established that the wife and her lover hatched the plan to eliminate Raj Kumar, while Sandeep facilitated the shooters.
Jyoti Sharma was found to have been in constant contact with the accused, providing real-time updates on her husband's movements from the moment he left their Agra home. It was revealed that Bobby Kumar allegedly paid Rs 1.5 lakh to the contract killers for carrying out the murder.
The post-mortem report confirmed that death was caused by a gunshot injury, with additional injuries found on the body.
Current Status and Manhunt
As of now, police have arrested three accused: Jyoti Sharma (the wife), Bobby Kumar (her alleged lover), and their associate Sandeep. All three have been sent to jail. However, the two shooters, Harish and Sunny, are still absconding. Police teams are actively conducting raids to apprehend them.
This chilling murder case from the Agra-Aligarh region highlights a brutal betrayal and a meticulously planned crime, now being unraveled by law enforcement.
