Agra Criminal Arrested in Connection with Rohit Shetty Residence Shooting
In a significant development, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested another wanted criminal allegedly involved in the firing incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence in Mumbai. The arrest was made from the Chhadami Mattha area on the Agra-Etawah Road under Bah police station on Thursday evening.
Technical Analysis and Intelligence Sharing Lead to Arrest
STF Additional Superintendent of Police Rajkumar stated that technical analysis and intelligence sharing between the Mumbai Police Crime Branch and UP STF led to the apprehension of the accused, identified as Pradeep Kumar, aged 28, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Agra.
During interrogation, Kumar revealed that he was influenced by posts from the Shubham Lonkar gang on Facebook and Instagram, which motivated him to plan an act to assert his dominance. According to an STF official speaking anonymously to TOI, Kumar admitted that along with his associates Sunny, Deepu, and Sonu, he traveled to Mumbai and participated in the firing incident at Rohit Shetty's residence.
Details of the Crime Scene Involvement
Mumbai Crime Branch officials confirmed that Kumar, aged 22, was present at the scene of the crime alongside the shooter, Deepak Sharma. With Kumar's arrest, the total number of individuals apprehended in this case has now reached 15.
The city crime branch has already applied stringent sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in this case, and a chargesheet has been filed, underscoring the seriousness of the charges.
Background of the Firing Incident
The firing took place on the night of February 1, 2026, at 'Shetty Tower' in Juhu, Mumbai. The attack was allegedly carried out at the behest of the Shubham Lonkar gang with the dual objectives of extorting money and instilling fear within the film industry and among the general public.

Following his arrest in Agra, Kumar was transported to Mumbai, where a local court remanded him to police custody for further investigation. This step is part of ongoing efforts to unravel the full extent of the conspiracy and bring all perpetrators to justice.
