A tragic chain of events on a busy Bengaluru road claimed the life of a senior advocate and left multiple people injured on Wednesday night. The serial accident, involving a speeding car, has sent shockwaves through the city.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to preliminary investigations by the police, the incident unfolded on RMV Club Road in north Bengaluru. The victim, identified as N Ramachandra Reddy, a 64-year-old advocate of the high court and a resident of HSR Layout, was walking along the road when a speeding car hit him. The impact was fatal.
The out-of-control car did not stop after the initial collision. It proceeded to ram into two other vehicles before crashing into a scooter. The two-wheeler was carrying a man and a woman, both of whom sustained injuries in the crash. They were promptly shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
Aftermath and Police Action
Three private college students who were inside the car also suffered minor injuries. The vehicle itself was severely damaged, with its bonnet and windshield badly smashed in the series of impacts.
Following the accident, authorities from the Sanjay Nagar traffic police station registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation. Reddy's body was shifted to a mortuary for a postmortem examination. In a standard procedural move, the police have seized all vehicles involved in the unfortunate event.
Traffic Disruption and Community Impact
The cascading effect of the accident caused significant disruption in the area. Traffic on RMV Club Road was severely affected until about 10 pm as emergency services and police worked at the scene. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and speeding in the city, particularly on key arterial roads.
The local community and legal fraternity are mourning the loss of the experienced advocate. The police continue to piece together the exact sequence of events and determine the primary cause behind the car's high speed.
