Mangaluru: Activist Jayanth T has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Home Minister, and Director General and Inspector General of Police of Karnataka, urging legal action against the seer of Shiroor Mutt. The activist alleges that the seer made provocative statements in connection with the alleged Dharmasthala case. Additionally, Jayanth has called for action against a journalist who shared the seer's remarks on social media.
Details of the Allegations
According to Jayanth, Sri Vedavardhana Thirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt accused activists involved in the Sowjanya murder case of hatching a conspiracy. The seer reportedly issued an open call to the public, urging the entire Hindu community to protest fiercely against this alleged conspiracy.
In the memorandum, Jayanth stated: "At a time when cases are being heard in courts, such a severe, provocative call coming from a religious seat is a systematic attempt to incite riots in society, disrupt law and order, and endanger the lives of activists." He also demanded action against the journalist for sharing the seer's statement on social media platforms.
The activist emphasized that such statements could lead to communal tension and violence, and urged the authorities to take swift legal measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
