ACB Arrests Excise Inspector in Kamareddy District for Alleged Bribery
In a significant anti-corruption operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana arrested a prohibition and excise inspector on Friday for allegedly demanding and accepting a substantial bribe. The incident occurred in Bichkunda, located within Kamareddy district, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat corruption in government departments.
Details of the Arrest and Bribery Allegations
The accused official, identified as Deenu Satyanarayana, was apprehended red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh at his rented residence in Bichkunda. According to ACB officials, Satyanarayana had demanded this illicit payment from a local toddy shop operator. The bribe was allegedly solicited in exchange for specific favors related to the shop's operations.
The inspector promised the complainant that he would be allowed to continue running his business without facing relocation or the registration of new cases against him. Furthermore, the bribe was intended to ensure that the toddy shop operator would not encounter any interference or harassment from the excise department, thereby securing a smooth operational environment through corrupt means.
Additional Seizure and Legal Proceedings
During the arrest, the ACB team conducted a search and made an additional discovery. They seized an unaccounted amount of Rs 45,760 from Satyanarayana's bag, raising further questions about the sources of this money. Following the arrest, the accused is set to be presented before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand, where legal proceedings will determine the next steps in the case.

In light of this incident, ACB officials have reiterated their commitment to eradicating corruption and have urged citizens to report any instances of bribery demands. They provided multiple channels for reporting, including:
