Varanasi: Achieving major success under Operation Chakravyuh, Varanasi Police on Tuesday arrested seven accused involved in the purchase and sale of illegal weapons and criminal activities. A joint team of Cholapur Police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) apprehended all accused near the underpass located behind Katari Block. Police received information that the gang members were preparing for a major crime, after which action was taken under the leadership of Cholapur Station In-charge Inspector Sadhuvan Ram Gautam.
The arrested accused are Akhilesh alias Monu Rajbhar (27), resident of Raichanpur; Arun Rajbhar (21), resident of Atesua; Himanshu Kumar alias Sunny (28), resident of Dhaurhara (Chaubeypur); Aabhash Singh (23), resident of Shivrampur; Vishal Singh (19), resident of Nehiyan; Aniket Chauhan (20), resident of Gosainpur Mohanv; and Naman Mishra alias Astishu (25), resident of Gurvat.
Recovered Items
Police recovered from the possession of the accused a .32 bore revolver, six live cartridges (.32 bore), a 7.65 mm pistol with two cartridges, a .315 bore country-made pistol with three cartridges, a 9 mm pistol with two live cartridges, a stolen motorcycle, and six mobile phones.
Police Interrogation Details
During police interrogation, the accused revealed they were armed with illegal weapons while committing theft, snatching, and robbery incidents. Additionally, they engaged in selling country-made pistols, pistols, and cartridges.
