Three Lives Lost in Tragic Jhunjhunu Road Accident
A severe head-on collision between a pickup vehicle and a tempo on the Shrimadhopur bypass road in Sikar district resulted in the tragic death of three individuals on Thursday. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and highlighted ongoing road safety concerns in the region.
Victims Identified in Fatal Collision
According to police officials, the deceased have been identified as Sunil Kumar, Pradeep Chauhan, and Mahendra Singh, all residents of Shrimadhopur. The impact of the collision was so powerful that the tempo was severely damaged and became stuck. Eyewitnesses reported that the sound of the crash was loud enough to alert people working in nearby shops and fields, who immediately rushed to the scene to offer assistance.
Rescue Operations and Aftermath
A police team led by Sub-inspector Subhash Sharma from Shrimadhopur police station quickly reached the accident spot. With help from local residents, rescue workers extracted all the injured from beneath the wrecked tempo and pickup vehicle. The victims were immediately transported to the Shrimadhopur health centre, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The rescue operation faced significant challenges as two bodies were trapped under the pickup vehicle, while the third victim had to be carefully extracted from the debris of the tempo. The accident caused a major traffic jam on the busy bypass road, which police personnel eventually cleared to restore normal traffic flow.
Family Mourns and Investigation Continues
In a heartbreaking revelation, Mahendra's elder brother Sanwarmal shared that Mahendra had been driving a tempo on the Shrimadhopur-Ringas-Khatu route and had purchased his new vehicle just about five months ago. The families of all three victims received the bodies after post-mortem procedures were completed.
Police authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Officers are currently searching for the pickup vehicle driver, who fled the scene following the catastrophic accident. The investigation aims to determine the exact cause of the collision and establish responsibility for the tragic loss of life.
