3 Dead, 10 Hurt in Buldhana Road Accidents

A tragic Monday afternoon in Buldhana district saw two separate road accidents claim three young lives and leave at least ten people with serious injuries. The incidents, occurring within a short span of time, brought traffic to a halt on two major highways.

Fatal Collision on Buldhana-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Highway

The first and more severe accident took place around 4 pm on the Buldhana-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway near Dhad village. According to police reports, a speeding motorcycle collided head-on with a Shiv Shahi state transport bus operated by the MSRTC.

The impact of the crash was so severe that all three youths riding the motorcycle died on the spot. They have been identified as Kailas Dandge, Ravi Chandanshiv, and Ankush Padale. All three were in their early twenties and were residents of Dhal Savangi village in Buldhana taluka.

Following the fatal collision, a large crowd gathered at the site, leading to a temporary halt of traffic on the busy highway. Police officials rushed to the scene, conducted a panchnama (spot inspection), and later managed to restore the flow of vehicles.

Taxi Overturns on Nandura-Burhanpur Road

Barely half an hour later, another major accident unfolded on the Nandura-Burhanpur road. Between 4:30 pm and 5 pm, the driver of a shared taxi lost control of the vehicle, which then fell into a roadside ditch.

This accident resulted in serious injuries to as many as ten passengers. Police confirmed that there were no fatalities in this second incident. The injured were first taken to the government hospital in Khamgaon for initial treatment.

From there, those who were in critical condition were referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Akola for more advanced medical care. Similar to the first incident, traffic on the Nandura-Burhanpur stretch was also disrupted for some time before police cleared the road.

Aftermath and Ongoing Concerns

The twin accidents have once again highlighted the critical issue of road safety on Maharashtra's highways. The loss of three young lives in the first crash has sent shockwaves through the local community in Buldhana.

Local authorities are investigating the exact causes of both accidents. While the first involved a collision between a motorcycle and a state transport bus, the second appears to be a case of the driver losing control. These incidents serve as a grim reminder for commuters about the dangers of speeding and the need for constant vigilance on the road.

The condition of the injured passengers from the taxi accident is being closely monitored at the hospitals in Khamgaon and Akola.
