A tragic road accident in Jharkhand's Palamu district claimed the life of a 26-year-old man on Monday morning. The fatal collision, attributed to severely low visibility caused by dense fog, occurred between a motorcycle and an empty school bus in the Hussainabad area.

The victim has been identified as Dharmendra Yadav. According to police reports, the accident took place in the Jamarhya locality, approximately 4 kilometres from the Hussainabad police station. Yadav was returning to his home from Japla after dropping his brother off at a tutor. Simultaneously, the school bus was on its way to pick up students when the head-on collision occurred.
Officer-in-charge of Hussainabad police station, Sonu Kumar Choudhury, confirmed the circumstances. "There was dense fog in the area during the morning, which led to the accident," Choudhury stated. He further added, "He died on the spot. Police have seized the bus, but its driver fled the scene."
Immediate Aftermath and Public Response
Following the accident, the scene quickly gathered local residents and grieving family members. In a spontaneous outburst of anguish, they blocked the road demanding compensation for the untimely death. Police personnel intervened promptly to clear the blockade and manage the situation.
Regarding the legal proceedings, OC Choudhury informed that the process is underway. "We will file a first accident report (FAR) within 48 hours before lodging a formal case of road accident," he said. The investigation will proceed based on the seized vehicle and other evidence from the site.
