A 22-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in an under-construction house in Sadisopur village, under the Bihta police station area of Patna district, on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Chand, son of Mohammad Pappu Ansari, a resident of Gonwa village.

Family Alleges Murder After Friend's Call

According to family members, Chand left his home on his motorcycle on Saturday evening after receiving a call from some friends. When he did not return late at night, relatives began searching for him. However, his mobile phone remained switched off, and there was no sign of him.

On Sunday morning, the family was informed by the police that Chand's body had been found inside a house under construction in Sadisopur. Upon reaching the spot, relatives discovered his body with severe head injuries. His motorcycle was missing from the scene, while only his switched-off mobile phone was recovered.

The police have sent the body to a government hospital for postmortem examination. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was also summoned to collect evidence from the crime scene.

Police Suspect Dumping After Murder

Bihta SHO Amit Kumar stated that villagers alerted the police about the body, and the victim's family was called for identification. He added that the Patna FSL team had been informed and that a detailed investigation would be conducted after the forensic examination of the site.

The SHO elaborated: “The body bore a head injury. Prima facie, no bloodstains were found at the crime spot. It is suspected that the accused dumped the body there after the murder. The police are checking CCTV footage from nearby areas. Statements from the victim’s family are yet to be recorded.”
